Hello! We are Julie and Flore, two 14 and 15 year-old students who live in Compiègne, next to Paris, in France. Julie's mother's name is Corinne and her father is Olivier. She has got two brothers, Alexandre and Gaël, 21 and 17 years old and one sister called Aurélie who is 23.
Flore's parents are named Francis and Isabelle. Her brother is Gabin, he is 13 years old.
Julie has got a cat and Flore has got 4 dogs, 1 cat, 1 rabbit and 30 turtles.
We are going to tell you all about our country...
First of all, France is situated in Western Europe and is often nicknamed "The Hexagone" because its shape is looking like an hexagon.
As for the landscapes, we have got high mountains like ''The Alps'' where is located the famous
''Mont Blanc''. But there are also many beaches because France is surrounded by two seas (the Manche and the Mediterranean Sea) and the Atlantic Ocean. However, most of the country is composed of big plains or forests.
Climate in France is very varied: sometimes it could be hot and sometimes it could be cold but in Picardy, we have loads of rain.
You will find out that we speak French with many different accents because we have a lot of different regions.
The capital city of France, Paris, is a really touristic city with its famous monuments, for exemple, how to speak about France without speaking of the Eiffel Tower?
The symbols of France are the cockle and the three-coloured flag.
About our region, Picardy, it is situated in the north of Paris.
It's a region where agriculture is the head revenue stream.
We have loads of cathedrals and of little cute towns of ancient times.
One of our specialities is the famous ''Ficelle Picarde''.
So, France is a very beautiful and varied country and we hope you enjoyed our view of our country and maybe you'll visit it someday...
